Hi Lovelies,
Ages ago I was given a Beauty Blender, a set of Micro Mini Beauty Blenders, and the Pure Solid Cleanser – I took photos of all of these literally within the first few days of setting up my blog and then never wrote a post on them! I planned to compare the original Beauty Blender to the many sponges that you can now get everywhere. Its safe to say that once I started using the Beauty Blender and it was getting more and more makeup stained, I didn’t want to photograph it again! I think I will still write the comparison post. But for now, I thought it was about time to open the Pure Solid Cleanser and give it a spin!

Ive has quite a few irregular breakouts recently, and one of the things that can cause spots that you might not think about, is your brushes. They are on your face almost every day, picking up product, putting it on your face, and then starting all over again! If your brushes aren’t cleaned regularly then they harbor bacteria, bacteria that spreads allllll over your face if you don’t get rid of it! I know, its the worst job. I hate cleaning my brushes and ALWAYS leave it a little longer than I should. When I do get round to cleaning them all I always enjoy myself and think ‘This isn’t so bad! Im going to do this every week’. Do I? No. Sorry face, sorry brushes!

BEFORE

AFTER…

GROSS.
Beauty Blender have two types of brush cleansers, a solid and a liquid one. Now, I’ve never tried the liquid one, but the promise of a sold cleanser being longer lasting a less wasteful certainly floats my boat anyway! The sold cleanser in its full size is 28g, the travel size that I tried was half the size. The soap is pretty self expiatory to use too, however it does have instructions if needs be, you simply wet your brush or Beauty Blender, give it a rub on the soap, and then rinse. The formula is soy based, so breaks down product incredibly easy – A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!

First I did my Beauty Blender, I rinsed the sponge with warm water and gave it a squeeze. Then, I rubbed the soap around the Beauty Blender and worked it into a lather, rinsed, and repeated! It only took a minute and my Beauty Blender looks a thousand times better than it did before! I really need to clean my beauty tools more regularly… Next, I had to try it out on my brushes.

Usually I just use some generic soap, and doing all of my brushes would take me FOREVER… And the soap would be foundation colored by the time I finished. I just started with the one brush to see how the soap would work, when I went to put it back into my collection and saw the before and after, that was it. I grabbed all of my brushes and went to work! To say I cleaned 12 brushes, it literally took me 5 minuets! 5 MINUETS! FOR 12 BRUSHES! Rinse, swipe on the soap, rinse, done. They were immaculate. Because you dont need much product for an amazing result I felt like it was better on my brushes too. I didn’t need to rub them on the soap much at all, so all of the bristles were left fluffy and fresh. Also, I don’t really know how, but just a few stroked on a towel and my brushes were almost dry?!

ODD ONE OUT?
Had to clean them all!

So, lets conclude. I put myself on a spending ban as we are going on holiday in two weeks and I want a puppy in a few months time. But guess what I’m doing before we go away? Yeah, I’m buying the full sized product! I need it in my life, its just SO easy to use. I’m confident I will actually manage to clean my brushes more often too, because its not going to take me all night!!! So yeah… its a thumbs us from me! 100% recommend.

You can buy the Beauty Blender Pure Solid Cleanser from Beauty Bay for £15.

May 5, 2018 at 1:46 pmI had a Freedom one before but not sure what’s available now I think Revolution still do one. It’s a lot sort of cheaper looking if that makes sense but does the same thing! x
