Hi Lovlies!
So… its been a bloody minute since I did a blog post! I can’t believe I have actually left it this long but I feel like I’ve just been so busy, I’ve had two birthdays to plan for as well as a few other things I was doing, trying to get to the gym as much as possible before our holiday to Croatia, and on top of all that I had my first panic attack last week… so, I’ve been a little distracted! Its definitely a reminder that I need to get my writing head on and have some post finished and scheduled so that when I get busy it doesn’t get in the way of my blog. I enjoy doing this so much that I feel so annoyed I’ve managed to push it aside and let life get in the way, but you know what, these things happen. Lets not dwell on it.
Anyway, lets get onto this review shall we?!
I have a bag full of products I’m waiting to review in our office, but this scrub has been in there since I started my blog 7 months ago! It was gifted by Body Boom and I received the Coconut version in the 30g size, which retails at £6. The other size they have is 200g and is £16 – thats FANTASTIC value for money! You get almost 7 times more product in the bigger pack, for just £10 more, Amazing.
The first time I heard about coffee body scrubs was a few years ago when Frank Body was ALL over Instagram, I feel like every single person had a pack of Frank Body but I missed that hype and never bought it. So, when this came into my lap I was so excited to finally give a coffee scrub a try! Body Boom was created in Poland and is now available all around the world. In the UK it is sold exclusively in Harvey Nichols but you can also buy it on their website here.
Body Boom is ALL NATURAL and CRUELTY FREE, and they claim that their coffee scrub has the following health benefits;

  • Reduce toxins in the skin
  • Reduce cellulite
  • Reduce the signs of aging
  • Smooth the skin
  • Enhance circulation
  • Improve skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis
  • Moisturises
  • Retains moisture and firmness
  • improve skins elasticity
  • Regenerates the skin
  • Removes dead skin
  • Helps with itchy skin (hellooooooooooooo my legs are literally cut and scarred everywhere from scratching them!)

Sounds good right?!
They have loads more information on their original website here, the UK one seems quite new and so hasn’t got quite as much content.
So, what did I think? First of all, I decided to apply a face mask while I used Body Boom on my body… I realised later on that it can be used for your face too and supposedly fights acne so thats definitely how I’m going to be using it the next time!
I love the packaging, I think its really cute, but if I left this in my kitchen I’m pretty sure Jack might use this in his new coffee machine and end up with a horrible tasting coffee! Definitely keep this out of the way of the kitchen, this is strictly for the shower!
Guys, THE SMELL. TTHHHEEEE SSMMMMEELLLLLLL! Its is absolutely INSANE. Like, it honestly smells SO nice I can’t even tell you. I could literally just sit with the packet open smelling it all day. Super nice. I don’t actually drink coffee but I love the smell of it, so this is perfect for me as its a coffee I don’t have to drink, but can still use and enjoy the smell of. I got the coconut scent but it isn’t too overpowering, its the perfect blend. I have smelt the other scents too and they are all delicious, The only one I found a bit sickly was the banana scent, but its personal preference really.
I did spend a moment like hmmmm right how do I work this?! I have used scrubs before but never of this texture, it did feel a little bit like I was seasoning some steak when I was trying to rub it in haha! But we got there in the end. I 100% recommend getting in the shower and having your skin drenched, warm and prepped so your pores are all open and ready to soak in the goodness. I, on the other hand, wanted to take a photo of the scrub on my skin, so it was a little tricky jumping in the shower, making sure I got the coffee scrub on myself and then jumping out again for photos! Body Boom recommend leaving the scrub on for 3-5 mins which was fine, I just rubbed it in and then shampooed my hair in the meantime before washing it off.
At the time of using the scrub I was amazed at how great my skin felt, super moisturising  and I was thinking ‘this is great! its not even messy!’…. Honey, no. I turned around and my bath actually looked like I had been trying to do some gardening! There was brown coffee grains, EVERYWHERE! Up the walls, down the sides, just, I don’t know how it got to some of the places it did but, it bloody did. It does say on their website that its non messy, and what they mean by this is yeah, its going to make a mess, but the ingredients are chosen to be easily cleaned away, and THANK THE LORD, they are! As soon as I got the shower head over the product it all washed away really easily, hallelujah.
I liked the scrub a lot! The smell was great, it felt so lovely on my skin and in the long run  hopefully it will live up to all its claims. I loved that although it was exfoliating, it still left my skin feeling moisturised and comfortable. Personally though, I don’t think a coffee scrub is something I would use daily or even weekly. Even though it washed away easily from my bath, I know that daily I would always choose something that didn’t need that sort of effort required, over a coffee scrub. I think this would be AMAZING on holiday, when you have been tanning all day and need something thats abrasive but moisturizing and would keep your skin looking glowy AF. It would be a nice product to use before fake tanning too, something strong enough to rid you of dead, dry skin, but wont leave you feeling like someone has squeezed all the moisture and natural oils out of you.
Love, Chelsea xxx
Have you every used a coffee scrub? There are so many on the market now! Have you tried more than one and are they all the same thing but packaged differently? The others I have heard of are Frank Body and Scrub Love. Thoughts?
