Talking about bucket list destinations is something I can do any time, any place! It doesn’t matter how far it is, I want to go. I have always loved traveling, i’ve even quit my job to go on a long holiday/traveling before! And although Ive seen a lot of the world already I haven’t even ticket off half of the places I want to visit! I like being at home, but I wouldn’t really call myself a home bird, I could easily live a life where I’m jetting off every other month (as long as I could still have dogs!). With only 3 weeks to go until Jack and I go to Croatia, It’s got me thinking about all the places I have already been, where I want to re-visit, and where is next!
WHERE I’VE BEEN SO FAR
- Tenerife and Fuerteventura (of the Canary Islands)
- Ibiza (of the Balearic Islands)
- USA (Arizona, California)
- Costa Rica
- Mexico (for one night!!!)
- Bali (Indonesia)
- Less exciting if you’re from the UK, but I’ve also really enjoyed the breaks I’ve had around the UK in places like the lake district, Cornwall, Scotland etc. Sometimes you can’t beat a staycation!
WHERE I WANT TO REVISIT
Firstly, I shouldn’t really even put Mexico on the list of places I have been because I was probably there less than 10 hours, but technically I did walk on Mexican soil so it counts! When me and my friend Megan went traveling through California and eventually Costa Rica, we crossed the border into Tijuana while we were in San Diego. Everyone told us not to, infact we didn’t tell our parents until we landed safe and sound back in England because they were practically having nightmares at the thought of it, they would of had a breakdown if they knew we actually did it! But, it was just too close not to do it, so the night before we had to catch a flight to Costa Rica we decided to take a bus to the border and cross it. We had such a good but very eye opening night in TJ, and we definitely did not see the lush sandy beach side of Mexico… thats for sure! So I would LOVE to go back to Mexico again to soak up the amazing scenery and weather. It looks SO beautiful that I just need to go back one day! Also, Mexican food is one of my FAVOURITES.
I went to Canada in high school (year 9) on a ski trip and had the most amazing time! Generally, I HATE snow, don’t like snowballs, don’t like snowmen, don’t want to go out in it. I’ll look at it out of the window and its alright but I don’t want to be in the snow! But, the snow in Canada was different, it wasn’t wet and horrible like it is in England, it was powdery and nice, kind of similar to the UK’s most recent snow spell actually! The snow felt different this year, anyway. It was great even though I’m not generally a snow person, but you know that you’re going skiing and you pack for the weather so its definitely something I would do again. The next time I visit Canada I would like to go in Summer or Autumn I think. It just looks really beautiful, beaut forests and lakes etc.
I absolutely loved the time we (Megan and myself, again!) spent in Thailand and Vietnam. It was the most amazing thing I think I’ve ever done… even if I did have to quit my job to go! And it isn’t that I particularly liked Thailand any more than Vietnam, infact I find it really sad that the tourism is absolutely destroying the beauty of it, but something keeps making me want to go back. I feel like theres still so much more to see, so many little islands to explore, and I just loved how friendly everyone was there, AND THE FOOD. So I would like to go back again, its the perfect mix between relaxation and fun, you can get which ever you need, whenever you want.
TAKE ME BACK TO BALI RIGHT NOW, PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!! Before we (my friend Amy, and I) went to Bali it was so hard to decide where to stay, there are so many articles with advice on the internet and they all make everywhere sound great, but when you can’t do them all, whats a girl to do? Where do you choose?! In the end we decided to stay in Kuta for a few nights and then head to Gili Trawangan for the rest of the holiday. Kuta is really easy to get to pretty much anywhere in Bali, but it doesn’t mean its the nicest. Kuta beach is very choppy and FULL of people trying to sell surf lessons, but it was super easy to book transport to the Gili Islands. Kuta itself is ok but very touristy – it isn’t really what you imagine when you think of Bali, in all honesty! However, when I visit next, I will still go back to Gili Trawangan and the other two Gili Islands! But I will make sure to check out all the other amazing parts of Bali and avoid Kuta. I wrote about our Bali trip very early in my blog, so this first post is about booking the holiday, this post is about the first half of the holiday/Kuta, and this last post is about the second half of the holiday/Gili Trawangan! And yes, we went to the original sea swings!
I went to India last year, I always thought India looked like it would be an amazing place to visit and experience, but I just never thought it was somewhere I would actually get the chance to visit! I didn’t think any of my friends would come with me because its a long way to go, to a place we knew nothing about. However! Luckily for myself and my friends Abby and Scarlett, Our bestie Ajay invited us to go to India with him and his family, to see the sights and stay in a huge house/apartments that they have out there. How could we say no?! It was the trip of a life time and I will be forever grateful for Ajay and his family for taking us with them and looking out for us. I cannot say enough how happy I am that we went with a family who know the country and can speak the language. If I was to go traveling there without, I’m sure I would be able to muddle through, but having people who could speak the language etc made the whole trip so easy and also made us feel 100 times safer! It is a VERY busy place, and as three young western girls we certainly stood out! I can’t even tell you how many times we got asked for selfies! It was crazy! We visited Delhi, Agra, Amritsar and Chandigarh and also took a little trip to the foothills of the Himalaya’s! We went to a few other places too, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you the names of where! If I go again, I would love to see Mumbai and Goa.
I love going to America, I know a lot of people from the UK have a chip on their shoulder about America and will say they ‘hate Americans’… why? I don’t know why people seem to think its okay to say they hate Americans, but they would never make such a sweeping statement about a nationality from a less developed country. I have family in America, in Arizona and Seattle, and they are all amazing people, and so are all their friends and families and I LOVE going over there even if it isn’t to see them, but just to be there. Im sure I will go over to the USA many more times in my life, my favorite so far has been LA, cliche I know, but I just love that you can get whatever experience you want out of it there, theres just so much to do and see that you can make your time whatever you want it to be (and the weathers pretty fucking amazing). I am DYING to visit New York too, Seattle, Arizona again, and maybe Miami. Infact can I just go on a road trip and see everything please?
I visited Italy for the first time last March and had the best time, the food, the wine, the sights, does life get any better? We went to Rome and to Amelia, where Jacks family have a property. It was so amazing and relaxing, I truly came back feeling so refreshed! Sometimes you can do so much on holiday that you feel like you need another holiday, just to relax from the one you just came back from! There is so much to see in Italy and I want to see it all! I would love to go to Lake Garda, Pisa, Florence, Venice, Amalfi Coast, Milan and Naples (pizza)… Did I miss anywhere?
I have never been to mainland Greece, but I have been to Cofu, the island, three times. I would love to go to Athens to see all of the history, and then obviously Mykonos and Santorini are complete dream destinations too!
MY BUCKET LIST
And that brings us to the bucket list! Ive talked a bit about where I want to go back to above, so i’ll just include the countries I have never been to at all.

Erm, yeah, its excessive, It actually makes me feel a bit sad that I might get to the end of my life and not have seen everything there is all round the world! But I’m determined to make the most of every trip I take and soak up everything there is to offer.
Does my bucket list have anywhere you want to go, or have already been? Let me know all about it in the comments if so! I could talk about travel all day so id be interested to hear any stories or information that you have to offer!
