Hi Lovlies!

Im so sorry I haven’t put up anything in over a week! Work/gym/life got a bit crazy and I just didn’t have the time to sit down and write anything. With me being between houses it means when I want to see jack I have to take an overnight bag, and fitting in my work clothes, makeup, gym clothes and general girl things makes it just too heavy to carry along my laptop too!
If you have been reading regularly or know me, you will know that in the new year, around February, Jack and I will be moving in together. With just a few months to go I’m definitely starting to get that itch, checking the Rightmove app daily and trawling Pinterest for Inspo! December is probably the worst time to be looking for properties, who wants to move out or start having viewings in their home near Christmas? So needless to say there isn’t very much to look at right now!

So while I’m feeling restless about my living situation and thinking about moving again I thought id write a little post about the last two places I lived after moving out of the family home, and show you a few photos of what they looked like before we/I moved in.

After doing a bit of traveling and going back to work with my friend Amy, we decided to move in together. Amy was commuting from Harrogate to Leeds every day and as I didn’t go to university I really wanted to move out for the independence, even if it was still in my home town. So we searched for about 5 months for the perfect flat, and eventually we found it!

I miss living in the city centre of Leeds so much! It was super convenient for work, going out, getting to the gym and generally nipping into town for things when I needed them or on my days off… I once went shopping for a top, came home, decided I still wasn’t happy with it and ten mins later I was back in Topshop trying on more options! I loved all the nice clean looking apartments, living overlooking the water and walking my little dog around the canal. I lived at Leeds Dock, the perfect in-between as you’re in the city but just far enough out that you can’t hear the heavy traffic. We had so much fun living in town! We had some amazing parties with our lovely friends, most of which we met working together at Victoria’s Secret…which also explains why our flat was promptly named ‘the angel suit’!

Heres what our flat looked like before we moved in:

we had THE BEST balcony and windows stretching the full length of the apartment!

And after!

After two years of city living I moved into my own little flat for 6 months in Oakwood, Roundhay. Amy moved home to save for a mortgage and got a puppy (which is absolutely adorable!) and I thought it would be nice to have my own space for a few months before moving in with Jack. It was nice having my own flat but the property needed A LOT of work. I spent time clearing the outside which hadn’t been used for years, getting rid of inches and inches of soggy leaves, branches and general sludge until it was in place where I could power wash all the paving slabs – satisfying to say the least! The inside was quite basic but it was all mine. I painted the kitchen units myself, making it more in-fitting with the rest of the house and rearranged the furniture countless times until it felt cosy. The thing I loved most about the flat was having the courtyard area, going from having a balcony (an amazing balcony, but still just a balcony) to an actual ‘garden’ where I had a table and chairs and could potter about and have drinks with friends was great, and now I’ve had this I really don’t think I could move into somewhere without an outside area again!

Heres some photos of what it was like before I moved in,

Annnndddd this is after!

Jack and I have spoken about where we want to live and what kind of house we want, and although I dearly miss living in the city centre its near impossible to find somewhere with a garden or roof terrace situation, that would also allow pets… if you know anywhere that caters for both in Leeds centre that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg then please hit me up! Because of this we have settled for finding a house, 2 or 3 bedrooms, with a garden (no matter how small!), in Roundhay, Oakwood or Chapel Allerton. These areas are close to our friends, family and general social scene when we aren’t in town and have good bus links to the city centre for me to get to work (failed my driving test 3 times soooo its the bus for me!).

At the moment I have my things spread across my mums, dads, Jack’s and Jack’s parents house so I’m getting restless to move into our own place now and be reunited with my things!

I can’t wait to cover the house with fresh white sheets, fairy lights, candles, fluffy cushions and chunky blankets!

I’ll update you all on our progress as it happens!

Love, Chelsea xxx
