PIXI GLOW TONIC – HERO PRODUCT!

February 7, 2018

Hi Lovlies,

Why did nobody tell me to get this product sooner? In fact, lets correct that because everyone told me to get it… Why did nobody force me to got this product?!

Glow Tonic can do no wrong in my opinion – it exfoliates, purifies, improves circulation, energizes, soothes, hydrates, refines the appearance of pores, accelerated cell renewal and gives you a brighter, glowing complexion. Phew, its a lot!!!

It’s a resurfacing and revitalizing toner thats infused with glycolic acid and aloe vera. It contains 5% glycolic acid, which is quite a fair amount!

One of the big things at the moment are AHA and BHA skin care products, Pixi’s Glow Tonic is an AHA product. The difference between the two is this, AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acid, these are acids that come from natural substances such as sugar cane, milk and grapes. In simple terms, they help to melt the stuff they holds your skin cells together, which will aid the natural skin shedding process. The skin shedding process slows down with age, so this will help! AHA’s are water soluble, and work on the skins surface, so they are good for sun damaged and dry skin because they help to improve the skins moisture content. The effects of AHA’s are only felt on the surface of the skin, where as BHA’s get right into the pores, past anything blocking them up to work from the deepest depth of your skin to breakdown blackheads and whiteheads!

I do suffer with some blackheads and breakouts, but as I’ve only just started introducing a structured skin care routine into my life, I’m sticking with AHA products for now, as BHA’s might be a bit strong for me just yet. I don’t want to go all in and make anything worse!

So! Because this is a AHA product, it will work on rejuvenating the surface of your skin. It isn’t made to get rid of spots or blackheads, but it will work on making your skin feel soft, you will see an instant glow, and it will help resurface your skin.

Thankfully for us, Cult Beauty explain what the Glow Tonic does in a really fool proof way! THIS is why its a cult product for all beauty enthusiasts.

Instantly refreshing, {Pixi}’s gorgeous glow-giver brightens, tones and conditions your skin after cleansing. Enriched with 5% glycolic acid – a natural derivative of sugar cane, and member of the alpha-hydroxy acid family – this gentle, exfoliating formula dissolves the bonds binding dulling dead cells to skin’s surface, to reveal the ‘new’ healthy skin cells underneath. Aloe then soothes and hydrates while oxygenating ginseng promotes cell health and skin vibrancy; witch hazel firms and tones, while horse chestnut boosts blood flow, to grant your complexion a naturally fresh and dewy radiance. Astonishingly affordable, this is mild yet effective, making it suitable for all skin types – just apply a few drops to a cotton wool pad, and sweep all over skin after cleansing (morning and evening) to gradually diminish signs of sun damage, fine lines, scarring and other imperfections.

You might not use a toner, maybe you don’t cleanse either, but even if you usually just take off your makeup with a makeup wipe and leave it at that (pls no!), if you sweep this Glow Tonic over your face with a cotton pad once your makeup if off, you will definitely see a difference!!!

It took me far too long to buy this, I should have done it ages ago, but now I have all I can do it rattle on about it just as much as the next person! It really does work wonders and makes your skin GLOW.

You can purchase Pixi Glow Tonic here for £18

PS. The night before posting this my mum said to me ‘Chelsea, Your skin is absolutely glowing?!’ and I couldn’t help but laugh because I had JUST used my Pixi Glow Tonic and it was still sat on the table infront of me!

[…] SO, combining AHA’S AND BHA can only work wonders, tackling the top layers of the skin as well as deeper into the pores all at once. Two birds, one stone and all that. The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is a 10 minute exfoliating facial. It is only recommended if you have used products containing acids before, if you go straight for this as your first time exposing your skin to acids you may have a reaction to the product. I have been using the Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser (containing BHA) and the Pixi Glow Tonic (containing AHA’s), among other products containing acids for some months now so I’m confident I will be okay with this peeling solution.
