Hi Lovelies,
Im excited about this post because this product is one I was recommended by colleague I used to work with, and now I have tried and tested it for a few months I can confirm, it is the best. I can’t live without it! It’s not the cheapest but it is amazing, if anyone knows of a dupe product please let me know! But for now, I’m obsessed.
Sunday Riley is a brand that I hadn’t heard of until I worked at Harvey Nichols. Sunday, the founder, started the brand in 2009 and it has recently exploded, mostly because once people try the products they realise how well made they are. She started the brand because although she loved designer/high end skin care products, she wanted something that worked, no matter the brand or the price tag. That is exactly what I look for in a product! It doesn’t matter to me where its from or what brand it is, as long as the product works, its good enough for me. One product that has been a hard pill to swallow for me is my La Prairie Swiss Ice Crystal Cream, it is an age-delaying moisturiser and retails for £252… it feels great on application, smells lovely, but I have seen no results from it what so ever and I breakout every time I use it, like, every time. Heart breaking. No hate to La Prairie, I love their 3 minuet peel, but I can’t help but be disappointed with the moisturiser. Where as Sunday Riley might be more than you usually spend on a product but if you know its going to work its bloody worth it!
So, why do you need a clarifying face oil and what does it do? A clarifying face oil is used to battle and prevent blackheads, breakouts, reduce post acne discoloration, and brighten the skin. Sunday Riley clarifying face oil contains salicylic acid which is a chemical exfoliator that penetrates pores and breaks down sebum inside (nice!). Other ingredients include antibacterial tea tree and black cumin seed oil which tackle bacteria, neroli and chamomile to calm redness and cucumber and milk thistle to help maintain moisture levels so your face feels plump and dewy but never makes your skin feel like its been stripped of all its goodness.
Where in your skin routine would you add a face oil? First, the oil should only be used 3 times a week, especially if your skin isn’t used to acids. I am guilty for using it almost every night (oops) but I just love it so much! It can be used day or night but I find it most beneficial to use on a night, I feel like it gives the product more time to sink into my skin without putting makeup straight on top of the lovely ingredients. Cleanse as normal, tone, serum, moisturise and then use the oil. Basically, just use the oil last and you’re good to go!
I can honestly say that since using this oil my skin has cleared dramatically, if I get a breakout during the day I know that by the morning it will have disappeared after a night sleeping in this incredible oil!
I bought the 15ml for £34.00, but once it runs out I will definitely be investing in the 35ml for £68.00. I use 3 small drops every time I use it, once on each cheek and then a tad on my forehead and I spread it around my face and then press it into my skin. I started using the Sunday Riley U.F.O Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil on 20th August (I know because its the day I started my new job!) and I have only used a little bit of the bottle as you can see from the photos, so I’m confident that it will last a while and I think it is 100% worth the money. Some people pipette the product into their hands, spread it in their hands and then press it into the skin which will work just as well, but for me, waste not want not! I would rather put the oil directly onto my face… my hands don’t need to be soaking up any of this precious oil.
You can buy the Sunday Riley U.F.O Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil from Cult Beauty, Harvey Nichols and Space NK. It is the same price across all three websites so its really a matter of preference!
Love, Chelsea xxxxx

UPDATED SKIN CARE ROUTINE FEB 2019 – CHELSEA'S GUIDE
February 17, 2019 at 19:46[…] Another Sunday Riley product, and another product I am down to my last few drops of. CRY. The Sunday Riley U.F.O Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil was recommended to me by a colleague who bought it to clear up break outs, I was suffering with a skin reaction at the time so I was willing to try anything to help clear it up as fast as possible. Containing salicylic acid, milk thistle, cucumber seed, tea tree, cumin seed oil and camomile, it is packed full of everything you need to combat break outs from all directions! The Sunday Riley U.F.O Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil is completely non greasy, use three days a week at first (or every other day), and then gradually build up to daily if needs be, pump a few drops onto your face and massage or press into your skin. The formula smells so amazing and feels even better. You can read my full review here. […]
