I’ve been using this product for a month or so now, but its only just occurred to me that I should write a post on it! I ordered a few things from Pretty Little Thing, and inside the package came this cute little box of miniature Tarte Tarteist Lip Paints! You can actually buy the exact mini set here on the Tarte website. The box includes two colours with different textures. I was dubious about trying them at first, I have quite dry lips as it is, so something that was a matte liquid lip screamed ‘WARNING’ to me! But on one of my days off I decided to give the more nude of the two a try, and that was it, it went straight into my hand bag – that’s when you know it’s a keeper!
Even though this is a sample pack you can actually buy it from the Tarte website, and its in the sale at the moment for £8! You get two different products, the Tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in colour Rose, and Tarteist creamy matte lip paint in colour Fomo. My favorite of the two is the Tarteist quick dry matte in Rose, its SUCH a nice nude, and the texture is literally perfect. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t crack or crumble all day. What you get when you apply it is what you have all day. Usually with matte liquid lipsticks they are a nightmare to re-apply or top up. Once you try to add more product when its already dry you end up with a hot mess and the product turns into a crumbly nightmare, but with this one you can re-apply and it doesn’t change the consistency or texture one bit. I also don’t find this dehydrating at all, once you remove the lip paint at the end of the day your lips feel like they are in the same condition as they were before. Always a plus!
The second product I still like, but I find it more drying. The Tarteist creamy matte lip paint in Fomo. This colour is described on the website as a Mauve, and thats exactly what it is. Now I don’t usually like pink tones on myself – not one bit, but this one it really nice! The texture is more drying and thicker than the previous, but still nice. I would recommend using Carmex or some sort of lip balm before applying the lip paint. Work the lip balm in and then apply the lip paint so ensure it doesn’t seep into any cracks or creases you might have.
As soon as the Tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in Rose runs out, I’m going to be buying myself the full size product! I might have to get myself the famous Shape Tape at the same time!
